When to book your hotel to pay the least

3 min read

There's no universal magic rule, but a few solid principles to avoid overpaying.

High season books early

For summer on the coast, year-end holidays or school breaks, the best hotels at the best price go early. Aim 1–3 months ahead. The longer you wait, the fewer affordable rooms remain.

Low season rewards patience

Off-season, hotels discount unsold nights. Last-minute deals (a few days before) can be excellent. The catch: less choice.

The day of the week matters

In cities, weeknights are often cheaper (fewer business travellers at the weekend… or the opposite depending on the destination). By the sea, weekends cost more. Shifting a day or two changes the price.

The week of the month — the real lever

The most overlooked point: within a month, some weeks are far cheaper (just before or after a peak). Instead of guessing, let us test every week and keep the cheapest for your hotel.
